At present, large-scale outdoor gatherings in arid and high-temperature regions face insufficient thermal comfort and potential heat-related safety risks, while conventional shading structures remain passive and unresponsive to environmental changes. This project proposes HydroCanopy, a bio-inspired water-harvesting canopy system that integrates shading, water collection, and mist-based cooling. Inspired by desert beetles and cactus spines, the canopy captures moisture from the air and releases fine mist when temperature thresholds are reached, providing a low-energy solution for improving local microclimate conditions.
